HEMATOLOGY-ONCOLOGY/ INFECTIOUS DISEASE
Dr. Morrison directs VA CORENET, a group of VA Clinicians interested in Hematology/Oncology research and pharmaceutical multi-site clinical trials. The network is supported by the CORNET Center located at the Minneapolis VA. It includes the virtual organization of approximately 200 physicians representing 100 VA facilities.
Current clinical research interests include:
Infectious complications of oncology patients, to include: a) mucosal immune function in patients with CLL and multiple myeloma, b) infectious complications of patients treated with nucleoside analogues, c) neutropenic prophylaxis in patients receiving cyclical myelosuppressive therapy, d) fungal infections.
Transplant-related lymphoproliferative disorders (evaluation, therapy).
Therapy of intermediate-grade non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in the elderly.
Therapy of chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
Infectious complications of patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
Monoclonal antibody therapy of NHL, CLL, multiple myeloma, post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorders.
Varicella zoster infections in normal and immunocompromised hosts
