My research interests have been focusing on (1). Risk stratification and risk reduction of patients with sudden cardiac death and (2). Effects of biventricular device therapy for patients with congestive heart failure. Specifically I will examine the question whether ICD benefits patients who have very low EF (=< 15%), but otherwise fit the criteria for ICD based on MADIT II criteria. For biventricular therapy, I will examine the question whether biventricular pacing in some patients lead to ventricular arrhythmia. I will also develop means to assess the risk of arrhythmia in patients receiving biventricular pacemaker.
