CARDIOLOGY

The program currently centers on 2 areas of basic science and 1 area of clinical research. The basic science program evaluates the role of aAngiogenesis and apoptosis in animals with ischemic heart disease and heart failure. The clinical research program includes clinical trials, especially those using newer anti-platelet interventions, in the area of acute coronary syndromes.
